Riverpride 2025 Safety & Weather Policy

The safety of our attendees, performers, vendors, and volunteers is our top priority. As
Riverpride is an outdoor festival featuring live music, vendors, and community
celebration, we closely monitor weather conditions leading up to and during the event.
The Festival Organizers and the Safety Team will make weather-related decisions.
These include:

  • Delays in event start times or performance schedules
  • Temporary pauses in activity due to severe conditions
  • Modifications to the festival layout or schedule
  • Full or partial cancellation of the event

Weather Conditions That May Cause Changes:

  • Lightning
  • Tornado Watch or Warning
  • Severe Thunderstorm Warning
  • Sustained Heavy Rain
  • Extreme Winds
  • Excessive Heat

Communication of Weather Decisions:
If changes are necessary due to weather, we will communicate through:

  • Riverpride social media channels
  • Official Riverpride website
  • On-site announcements via stage emcees and staff

Email/text updates (if you've signed up for event alerts)

Specific Scenarios:

Lightning:

The event will pause for 30 minutes from the time of each lightning sighting. Each new
sighting resets the clock. Guests will be advised to seek shelter.

Heavy Rain:

Light rain will not affect programming. However, heavy rain, causing slippery grounds,
pooling water, or low visibility, may delay performances or specific activities.

Tornado or Extreme Winds:

All attendees will be directed to nearby shelters or advised to leave the grounds.
Hand-held signage, announcements, security, and staff will help guide evacuation
procedures.

Extreme Heat:

Additional shaded areas, cooling stations, and free water will be provided. Limited
quantities may apply. Please monitor your health and stay hydrated.

Cancellation Policy:
In the event of a complete cancellation due to weather, Riverpride organizers will
make every effort to reschedule programming or host elements of the celebration later,
if feasible.
